Big relief for Prabhas and Chiranjeevi: High Court approves increase in ticket rates

Entertainment: Prabhas-starrer Raja Saab will be the first major theatrical release this Sankranti season. It will be followed by Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu, starring megastar Chiranjeevi in the title role. In a significant development, the Telangana High Court has granted permission to increase ticket prices and hold premiere shows for both films.
As previously reported, the producers of both films had already approached the government to obtain the necessary approvals. Previously, in the cases of films like OG and Akhanda 2, the High Court had struck down government orders allowing ticket price hikes. However, this time, the court clarified that the earlier single-bench decision applies only to Pushpa 2, OG, Game Changer, and Akhanda 2.

On the bright side, the producers of The Raja Saab and Man Shankar Vara Prasad Garu completed all formalities well in advance of release, giving them plenty of time to clear any legal or procedural hurdles. With these two big releases opening at the box office this year, the festive season is expected to be a big treat for family audiences.
