BIG BREAKING: Encounter between security forces and Naxalites, two Naxalites killed

Sukma. Security forces have achieved a major success in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Sukma district. Two Naxalites have been killed in an encounter in the forests of Kukanar police station area. Security forces have also recovered automatic weapons from the spot. At present, the search operation is going on in the area. Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan confirmed this and said that this encounter is an important achievement under the anti-Naxal operation. According to the information received, on Monday morning, a joint team of District Reserve Guard (DRG), CRPF and local police received information from intelligence sources that some armed Naxalites are active in the dense forests of Kukanar police station area. After this a search operation was conducted. As soon as the contingent of security forces reached the identified area, the hidden Naxalites started firing. In retaliation, the security forces also took the front and two-way firing started. After the encounter that lasted for about half an hour, a thorough search of the area was conducted, in which the bodies of two uniformed Naxalites were recovered. An INSAS rifle and another automatic weapon have also been seized from the spot. The identity of the killed Naxalites is being ascertained. According to preliminary information, both of them were active members of the Naxalite organization and have been involved in many criminal activities in the area. SP Kiran Chavan said, “Due to the vigilance and strategic deployment of the security forces, the Naxalites have suffered heavy losses. This encounter took place in the remote and hilly forests of Kukanar police station area. Our priority now is to thoroughly search the area and check the presence of any other Naxalites.” After the encounter, the entire area has been cordoned off and the search operation has been intensified. Also, searches are being conducted in the forests with the help of drones and sniffer dogs, so that no Naxalite can escape. The local administration has appealed to the villagers not to pay attention to rumors and cooperate with the security forces. Police deployment has been increased in the villages closest to the spot and the safety of the villagers is being ensured. This incident has happened at a time when the state government has decided to implement development schemes at a fast pace in Bastar and surrounding Naxal-affected areas. The administration is constantly promoting protective and social measures to reduce Naxalite activities. According to the security forces, this campaign is part of special schemes like “Operation Samarpan” and “Operation Monsoon Cleanup”, under which Naxalites are either being motivated to surrender or strict action is being taken against them.
