Gurugram: Gurugram Police registered a case against WhatsApp directors and nodal officers for not providing the information sought under the prescribed law. According to the police, during the investigation of a sensitive case, after obtaining the desired permission from the competent authority, Gurugram Police had sent a notice to WhatsApp through email on July 17 and sought information, but WhatsApp did not give any information in it. Respected and also objected illegally.

After this, on July 25, the necessary information of the mobile numbers given was sought by sending full details again, but till August 28, WhatsApp did not give any information to the police again and even after requesting several times, WhatsApp did not give any information to the police. Police said that the accused in this particular case are being helped by the WhatsApp company due to the unprofessional behavior of this company.

A case was registered on Saturday at the Cyber ​​Crime East police station in Gurugram against the directors and nodal officers of WhatsApp under sections 223 (A), 241, 249 (C) of the BNS and Information Technology Act. “Despite being legally bound to provide the desired information under the existing laws of the country, the WhatsApp management has violated legal directions by not providing the sought information,” the police said in a statement.
