Bhubaneswar will become the mega tech city of the eastern region of the country: Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar: Inaugurating the “Prosperous Odisha 2036 Conclave” organized by the Utkal Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UCCIL), Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that a true industrial revolution has begun in Odisha, which will certainly transform Odisha’s status and future.
Speaking on the roadmap for a prosperous Odisha, the Chief Minister said that the state’s economy is currently around $120 billion. To reach $500 billion by 2036, we must achieve five-fold growth in the next 10-11 years. To achieve this, we have focused on infrastructure, industry, and skill development. As you know, 84 industries have been started so far with an investment of ₹2 lakh crore, creating 1.64 lakh jobs.
“Investments worth lakhs of crores of rupees are currently in the pipeline from Vedanta Group, Adani, J.S.W., Indian Oil, and Zoho Group. Furthermore, investments are also coming in the textile and green energy sectors. In the infrastructure sector, the central and state governments are strengthening infrastructure across all sectors, including roads, railways, ports, and airports. Industry associations like UCCIL have extended a helping hand in this regard,” the Chief Minister said. He also stated that Odisha will progress through the combined efforts of the government and industry.
He further stated that efforts have been initiated to make Bhubaneswar the state’s technology hub. Fintech and insurtech companies are being established in Bhubaneswar. Two semiconductor industries have also been established, along with major IT companies. The Capital Region Ring Road and the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Twin City are undergoing massive expansion. We are going to develop Bhubaneswar as a mega tech city in the eastern region of the country.
On this occasion, Industry and Skill Development Ministers addressed the meeting. Development Minister Sampad Chandra was also present. Swain said that in one year, the government has become a favorite of the people in Odisha and has transformed Odisha into a state of great opportunities. Employment for the youth and the improvement of Odisha’s industry have all made Odisha a prosperous state. Today, thanks to the Chief Minister’s efforts, an industrial revolution has begun in Odisha.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released a souvenir titled “Prosperous Odisha 2036,” prepared by UCCIL.
