Bhubaneswar: Odisha vigilance arrests OWSSB Assistant Project Manager Debasis Sahoo

Bhubaneswar: Odisha vigilance today arrested Debasis Sahoo, the Assistant Project Manager of Orissa Water Supply & Swerage Board (OWSSB), Bhubaneswar, for possessing disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of 114% of his known sources of income, which he could not account for satisfactorily.

The vigilance officials also forwarded Sahoo to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar after arresting him. In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No.04 dated 30.03.2025 was registered against him and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC (Amendment) Act,2018.

During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets worth crores were unearthed in the name of the Assistant Project Manager and his family members;

One double storeyed building with area approx 6300 Sqft. at College Road, Jatni, Khordha.
Another double storeyed building with area approx 2500 Sqft. at Sardar Patel Marg, Jatni, Khordha.
Triple storeyed (under construction) building with area 4800 Sqft. at Sardar Patel Marg, Jatni, Khordha.
Two shops of total size 500 Sqft. at Banadurga Market Complex, Jatni, Khordha.
2 nos. of high value plots in Jatni, Khordha.
Cash Rs 1,57,020.
Gold ornaments 200 gms.
Bank & Insurance deposits worth over Rs 56.19 lakhs.
3 two wheelers & household articles worth over Rs 12.39 lakhs.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of the OWSSB, Bhubaneswar were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 114% in excess of his known sources of income. Investigation of the case is in progress.
