Bhubaneswar: Mission Shakti women stage protest at Lower PMG

Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of Mission Shakti women have set at the lower PMG of the capital city of Odisha in protest on Friday demanding salary and other benefits.
As per reports, the All Odisha Livelihood Mission EC Sangh is carrying out a day-night detention in Bhubaneswar’s Lower PMG area. The protest is for the demand of withdrawal of restructuring instructions and permanent appointment of EC members.
Apart from that the agitators have complained that they have not received their salary for the last six months.
According to Sangh’s complaint, more than a lakh executive committee-EC members have been working in Odisha Livelihood Mission and Mission Shakti under NLRM for the last 3 to 25 years.
The government has issued two directives to remove them under the restructuring process. Due to the new guidelines issued by the government, lakhs of EC members and 6 lakh women self-help group presidents, secretaries, CRPs, and MBKs working in the state will lose their jobs.
Therefore, the Sangh is continuing the agitation from the block to the district level demanding the withdrawal of this directive. The Sangh has requested the Chief Minister to intervene and resolve the problem. The Bhubaneswar Mission Shakti women protest protestors said that the agitation will continue until the demands are met.
