Bhopal: Seven people died due to lightning during rain

Bhopal: Seven people, including a nine-year-old boy, were killed in lightning strikes in various parts of Madhya Pradesh in the last 24 hours, an official said on Friday. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of thunderstorms at many places in the state in the next 24 hours, the official said. According to police, two women, Gura Bai (36) and Geeta Bai (35), died in lightning strikes in Bangaria-Chak village in Sadora area of ​​Ashok Nagar district on Thursday. He said three people were injured in the incident and have been admitted to a hospital. Similarly, in Chhatarpur, Class III student Ravinder Raikwar died after being struck by lightning while playing in the school ground in Gadhimalhara area, while farmer Lakhan Kushwaha died in Maharajpur area of ​​the district. He said a woman and a 20-year-old man were killed in lightning in Gwalior’s Bhitarwar area, while a 40-year-old farmer was killed in Panna’s Ajaygarh area, where three goats also died. Speaking to PTI, Divya Surendran, forecast in-charge of IMD Bhopal centre, said thunderstorms and lightning are likely at many places in Madhya Pradesh in the next 24 hours.
