Bhopal: Grand Maharana Pratap Lok awaits inauguration
Madhya Pradesh: The magnificent Maharana Pratap Lok, built in the TT Nagar area of Bhopal, is now awaiting official inauguration. This memorial, dedicated to the life of warrior king Maharana Pratap, spans four acres and was built at a cost of ₹10 crore.
The Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC), which built the memorial, has not yet handed it over to the district administration. Its operation will be the responsibility of the district administration. It is proposed to run it on a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
It is yet to be handed over to the district administration. A meeting was recently held to discuss the issue in the presence of the District Collector and the Smart City CEO. It has not yet been decided how and who will operate it. An official said, “The land on which it is built belongs to the Smart City.”
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the construction of Maharana Pratap Lok in 2022. Chauhan had said that the memorial will showcase the achievements of Maharana Pratap, his horse Chetak and his companions so that future generations can know about his bravery.
