Bhiwani: Bhiwani ADC inspected drains, sewage plant
Bhiwani: After several dharnas and demonstrations by people over problems of sewer blockage, clogged drains etc. in various areas of Bhiwani city, Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Municipal Commissioner Harshit Kumar today visited various areas of the city to take stock of the complaints of the people. During the spot visit in the city, the ADC was accompanied by officials of Public Health Engineering, Municipal Council and Electricity Department. Kumar inspected drains and sewer treatment plants (STP) located at Chidiya Ghar Road, Sabzi Mandi Rohtak Road, Bauri Gate, Dhana Road, Hanuman Dhani, Mehtab Chowk, Krishna Colony Civil Hospital and Sector 13. Municipal Councilor Bhawani Pratap Singh accompanied the ADC. Bhiwani ADC Harshit Kumar inspected the sewer treatment plant site in Bhiwani city on Thursday. During the inspection, the ADC found some spots on the storm water drainage which needed to be cleaned, due to which the flow of water was getting obstructed. The ADC directed the officials of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and the Municipal Council to get the drains cleaned to prevent waterlogging before the monsoon arrives. He directed the PHED, Municipal Council and Electricity officials to work in mutual coordination so that the STP remains operational. The ADC said that the electricity officials should ensure smooth supply of electricity to the STP and get all the wires and electricity poles installed to supply electricity to the STP repaired so that there is no disruption due to any technical fault. Kumar looked upset with the poor condition of the drain behind the vegetable market. The drain was completely clogged with garbage. He directed the Market Committee Secretary to take necessary steps to clean the drains. He said that the Municipal Council officials should also get the leakage in the sewer line in Sector 13 fixed with immediate effect. During the inspection, Municipal Corporation member Sandeep Yadav, PHED Executive Officer Sunil Ranga, Municipal Council Executive Officer Jaswant Singh, DHBVN (Power Utility) SDO Suraj Prakash, Ripudaman, Municipal Corporation Engineer Surendra Sangwan, Junior Engineer Abid Hussain and other officers were with him. It is worth noting that the problem of sewerage leakage, storm water outlet is very serious, due to which sewerage mixed water is being supplied due to leakage in many areas. The residents have raised their demand before the local officials and the local BJP MLA.
