Bhitarkanika to open for tourists from August 1 in a revamped look with Mangrove nursey and Museum

Rajnagar: Bhitarkanika National Park in Kendrapara district of Odisha is going to reopen for the tourists on August 1, 2025. The National Park will open with a revamped look.
A mangrove nursery consisting of trees that grow in saline conditions have been planted. The visitors can also witness the several animals in the boat libraries and read books also.
A museum has also been built for the visitors. Upon reopening, tourists can enjoy the park’s stunning natural scenery, spot white crocodiles named ‘Gori’, ‘Malli’ and ‘Sweta’, birds, and experience river rafting and walking on the forest’s skywalk.”
At Dangamala of Bhitarkanika there are 6 fibre boats while in Gupti there are four such boats.
Similar to the previous years, polythene bags have been banned. A watch tower has also been built in the forest block of the National Park. A skywalk has been built, which is 600 metres away from the Meta nursery.
Bhitarkanika National Park was closed from May 1 to July 31 for crocodile breeding. Tourists are excited as the park is set to open after a 3-month closure. The forest department is in the final stages of preparation to welcome visitors.
