Bhanupriya and Shantipriya’s mother, M. Lakshmi, passes away due to cardiac arrest.

Chennai: M. Lakshmi, the mother of renowned actresses Bhanupriya and Shantipriya, passed away on Sunday due to cardiac arrest. She was 83 years old.
Family sources confirmed that Lakshmi breathed her last late in the evening. They stated that her final rites would be performed in Chennai on Monday at 3:00 PM. Bhanupriya and Shantipriya have a brother named Gopalakrishna.
From the very beginning of their successful careers as leading ladies in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi films, Lakshmi served as a pillar of support for these actresses. Bhanupriya was last seen two years ago playing a mother’s role in the film Ayalaan, which starred Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role.
In 2018, Bhanupriya’s ex-husband, Adarsh ​​Kaushal, passed away in the United States. Adarsh, too, died due to cardiac arrest. Bhanupriya and Adarsh ​​were married in the U.S. in 1998 and have a daughter named Abhinaya. They later separated in 2005, following which the actress returned to Chennai, where she had been living with her daughter and mother.
Shantipriya was married to Siddharth Ray, a popular Hindi and Marathi actor who was also the grandson of the legendary filmmaker V. Shantaram. The couple tied the knot in 1992 and had two sons. Siddharth passed away on March 8, 2004, following a heart attack.
