Bengal school jobs scam: CBI interrogated two Trinamool Congress councilors
Two TMC councilors appeared before CBI officials on Thursday for questioning in connection with the investigation into irregularities in recruitment in primary schools in West Bengal, a senior official said.
The CBI had on Wednesday issued summons to two TMC leaders – Bappaditya Dasgupta and Debraj Chakraborty, and asked them to appear before its officers for questioning.
“We are trying to find out how both of them benefited from the irregularities in school jobs,” the officer told PTI.
The investigating agency had conducted a search operation at Chakraborty’s residence and offices in November last year. Several leaders of the ruling TMC, including former minister Partha Chatterjee, have been arrested in connection with the scam.
