Beneficiaries are also not less, PM housing funds were wasted in vain

Bilaspur. A shocking report has come out from the judicial capital Bilaspur. Where the misuse of the ambitious scheme of the Central Government, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), has been revealed. From 2016 to 2023, about 59,523 houses were approved in the district, but 3600 of these houses are still incomplete. When the District Panchayat team conducted a door-to-door survey to know the real reason, the results were shocking.

The survey found that instead of investing the money received from the government in house construction, many people spent it on unnecessary things like buying a bike, spending on wedding ceremonies. Some people even started building a house, but by ignoring the rules, they built on more land, due to which the budget increased and the house remained incomplete.

Many beneficiaries migrated to other states after taking the money, while there are some who want to complete their incomplete house, but are stuck in legal hassles. In some cases, the next installment is stuck due to the nominee not being decided, and in some cases, the beneficiary has died.
