Beggar Dies in Road Accident in Kerala, Four Lakhs Found in Possession

Thiruvananthapuram: A beggar in Kerala died in a road accident. However, cash worth about four lakhs was seized from his container. The incident took place in Alappuzha. In fact, the beggar was well-known to the people of that area. He used to beg in that area every day. However, on Monday night, the beggar met with an accident. He was seriously injured. He was taken to a nearby hospital. His name was registered as Anil Kishore in the hospital.

However, on Tuesday morning, Kishore’s body was found at a shop. His body was shifted to the hospital for postmortem. A container was found near his body. It was taken to the police station for inspection. The beggar’s container was opened in the presence of local panchayat member Philip Umman. Cash was found in it. The total value of the amount was estimated to be around Rs 4.5 lakh.

The seized cash included two thousand rupee notes that had been cancelled. There was also foreign currency. The police found that the cash was stored in plastic tins. Locals said that Kishore used to beg for money for food. But no one knew that he had so much money. Everyone was shocked, they said. The police said that the seized money will be deposited in the court.
