Ban on boat operation on Saryu river till the end of Sawan fair
Uttar Pradesh: Sawan Jhula Mela is held in Ayodhya, the city of temples and idols. The deities seated in the monastery and temples give wonderful darshan by sitting on the swing. During the Sawan Jhula Mela, thousands of devotees from all over the country and the world come to Ayodhya and the devotees take bath in Saryu here and worship in the monastery temples. Amidst all this, big news is coming from Ayodhya. Boat operation on the Saryu river has been banned till the end of the Sawan Mela. It is worth noting that on Friday late evening, a boat full of devotees sank in the Saryu river in Ramnagari. There were 9 people on the boat. Water police and SDRF rescued eight people after a lot of effort, while a girl is still missing. This accident happened when the ship was passing near the Aarti Sthal. The search for the missing girl is on, although no clue has been found yet. These conditions have to be met.
After this incident, the Ayodhya district administration has completely banned boating in Saryu. Not only this, after the Sawan Mela is over, permission has been given to run boats on the Saryu river from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Not more than 8 people can sit on each boat. It is mandatory for everyone to wear a life jacket. Not only this, only those boats will be able to run in Saryu which have been registered by the Water Police. Ban imposed till the fair. Ayodhya DM Chandra Vijay Singh said that a meeting was held with the boat drivers at Naya Ghat in the presence of Additional Magistrate Sandeep today to take immediate action on the incident of the boat of devotees capsizing in the Saryu river on the night of 2 August 2024. Shrivastava and the Water Police were instructed, in which important instructions were also issued. At present, boats will not be operated on the Saryu river till the Sawan Mela.
