Baliapal Accused arrested for attacking RI in Baleshwar

Baliapal: Police on Tuesday arrested a man accused of assaulting and threatening a female revenue inspector while on official duty in Balasore district earlier this year.

According to police, the incident occurred on February 12 when Sarojini Tudu, revenue inspector of Srirampur Panchayat under Baliapal block, was visiting Palpada village on official duty. The accused, identified as Abhay Das of Palpada village, allegedly stopped her vehicle, threatened the officer, and subjected her to mental and physical harassment without provocation.

Following the incident, Tudu filed a written complaint at the Baliapal police station.

Police said Das was arrested on Tuesday after he arrived at the Singla police station in connection with another case. Acting on a tip-off, Baliapal police took him into custody and produced him before a local court.
