Balasore Man Gives Supari To Kill Brother, Apprehended With Killers
Balasore: Police have cracked the mystery behind the murder of two youths—Bhabani Rout (22) and Manoranjan Mohapatra (21) who have been missing for four days and their bodies were recovered from the Blue Lake (an abandoned stone quarry) near Mitrapur under Nilagiri police limits in Balasore district today.
Police have apprehended six persons in this connection including deceased Bhabani’s elder brother, his sister-in-law and supari killers (hired assassins).
According to the police, Bhabani’s elder brother and his sister-in-law had hatched a conspiracy to murder him over family disputes and property matters. They had hired killers for the murder, police said.
“On 6th a murder case was registered at Nilagiri police station. Following a detailed investigation now we have come to know that the incident took place around 7.00 PM on the 5th in which two persons were killed and dumped in the Blue Lake. The complainant of this incident who happens to be the brother of the primary victim is the prime accused in the case. He had given supari to a person to kill his brother,” informed Balasore SP Sagarika Nath addressing a presser here today.
The Balasore SP said that another person who was the victim’s friend and had witnessed the murder was killed by the supari killers.
Nath said the five supari killers belong to the Puruna Balasore area and their previous antecedents include robbery and snatching.
She said that the entire supari killing was negotiated for Rs 1.40 lakh adding that the police have recovered Rs 70,000 out of that and a total of six out of the seven involved in the murders have been already apprehended.
She further informed that one of the supari killers is absconding.
The apprehended accused persons include Bijay Kumar Rout (28), brother of the deceased— (Bhabani). During interrogation, the accused persons confessed their guilt and narrated the incident apart from handing over of the weapon of offence. They have admitted to having thrown the dead bodies into the blue lake.
Police have seized six numbers of mobile phones of accused persons; two numbers of mobile phones of deceased persons; Weapon of offence—two numbers of TelengaKaturi; three numbers of motorcycles of accused persons; and cash of Rs 70,000 from the possession of four accused persons.
