Bakki Venkatayya issues stern warning on protection of rights of Dalits and discrimination

Nizamabad: SC/ST Commission Chairman Bikki Venkatiah warned that any injustice or discrimination against Dalits would face strict action under the SC/ST Atrocities Act, and urged victims to come forward and file complaints without fear.
He stated that the Indian Constitution guarantees equality and emphasized the need to eliminate caste-based discrimination and divisions in society, asserting that it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure equal rights for all. On Wednesday, a social equality program was held in Narsampalli village in Kamareddy district, aimed at eliminating caste-based discrimination in rural areas.
As part of this initiative, Dalits were allowed access to village temples, and community dining programs were organized. Officials and villagers also visited the Anjaneya Swamy and Shiva temples and offered prayers with participation from all sections of society.
Venkatiah said that joint efforts by the government, officials, and the public are necessary to eliminate discrimination, and he stressed equal access to temples, social events, and festivals.
Additional Collector (Revenue) Victor, SC Corporation official Venkateshwarlu, Sarpanch Ravi, DTDVO Soujanya, and Tehsildar Himabindu were present.
At the beginning of the program, Venkatiah paid tribute to B.R. Ambedkar by garlanding his portrait. Later, a community meal was organized, attended by villagers from different areas.
