Bhopal (IANS) | In Madhya Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party has suffered a major setback on Wednesday. Former District Panchayat President Baijnath Yadav, who is counted close to Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, joined the Congress. Along with Kushwaha, a large number of his supporters took Congress membership in the presence of state president Kamal Nath, former chief minister Digvijay Singh and former state president Arun Yadav. In the Gwalior Chambal area, Baijnath Yadav, who has been the District Panchayat President in the past and has also handled many big responsibilities, has been counted among the close associates of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. He left the Congress along with Scindia and joined the BJP and today he joined the Congress along with his supporters. District Panchayat President of Badarwas Meera Singh and people from other areas also joined the Congress along with him.

Baijnath says that he went to BJP with Jyotiraditya Scindia, but he felt suffocated there, so he has decided to return. Former Congress state president Arun Yadav recalled his family relations with Baijnath Yadav, and also claimed that many BJP leaders are preparing to join the Congress. In the coming times, the people who went with Scindia will return to the Congress and Scindia alone will be left in the BJP.

From Shivpuri, Baijnath along with his supporters reached Bhopal in the form of a convoy of several vehicles and joined the Congress in the presence of Congress state president Kamal Nath and other leaders.

This is the second major setback for Union Minister Scindia. Earlier, Yadvendra Singh Yadav of his area had left BJP and joined Congress.
