Badaput GP ADEO Amarbar Mallick nabbed by Vigilance while taking bribe
Koraput: Amarbar Mallick, the Accountant-cum-Data Entry Operator (ADEO) of Badaput GP under Boipariguda Blolck in Koraput district has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe.
Mallick was held while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a contractor to process file and prepare all documents required for issue of work order in his favour i.e. “Ghat Cutting work from Mirchimala to Goilkhari” under MGNREG scheme.
Even after approval from the competent authority, the ADEO was not issuing work order in favour of the contractor. Instead, he was demanding bribe Rs 20,000 to issue work order in his favour.
Despite repeated requests by the contractor, Mallick was delaying the process for no cause and insisting him to pay the demanded bribe Rs 20,000. As the contractor was not able to pay the demanded bribe Rs 20,000, he approached the vigilance authorities about the matter.
Upon receiving the information, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed the ADEO today while taking the bribe from the contractor. The entire bribe money of Rs 20,000 was recovered from the possession of accused the ADEO and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Amarbar Mallick from Disproportionate Assets (DA) angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No 38/2025, U/s 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused ADEO.
