Baby boy stolen from visually-challenged woman’s lap in front of Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Throwing a challenge to the Commissionerate Police, a man dared to steal a child from the heart of the State Capital City Bhubaneswar and that too from the Ram Mandir, which is situated near Kharvela Nagar police station and is under the blanket of CCTV Cameras.
An unidentified man allegedly stole a one-and-a-half-year-old boy from his visually-challenged mother’s lap in front of Ram Mandir on Janpath road last night.
The woman, who has been earning her livelihood by begging outside the Ram Mandir, was sleeping just infront of the temple along with her one-and-a-half-year-old son last night. However, an unidentified person stole the child at around 2 AM last night.
After sensing that her son has been stolen, the visually-challenged woman launched a frantic search for him. After not finding him, she reported the matter to the Kharvela Nagar police this morning.
She claimed that a man offered his son some fruit juice and played with him by showing him a mobile video before taking him away at the midnight. She also suspects that the man might have stolen her child for organ trafficking.
Taking a serious note of the woman’s complaint, police started an investigation into the matter to track the boy’s whereabouts. The special team of police is also reportedly verifying the footages of the CCTV cameras installed around the Ram Mandir. They are also interrogating the other beggars who were on the spot when the child was stolen.
