Auto plunges into crop canal, three dead

Amaravati: Three people died and two others were injured in a road accident in Bapatla district of AP. The details of the incident that took place near Donepudi in Kollur mandal of Bapatla district are as follows. A coconut-laden auto going from Kollur towards Vellathur accidentally fell into a crop canal.

Chintamoto residents Chatagadda Kantarao (48), Pesaralanka Srinivasa Rao (55) and Sheikh Ismail (55) who were in the auto died. The two injured were taken to Tenali Hospital. MLA Nakka Ananda Babu inspected the scene and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
