Australian Prime Minister meets Chinese Foreign Minister
Beijing. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese holds talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Canberra. During the meeting, Albanese remarked that Australia-China relations have made positive progress over the past two years with the re-energizing of trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges.
They praised China’s poverty alleviation and development achievements and pledged to deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields through high-level exchanges.
Albanese stressed the importance of finding common ground between Australia and China, focusing on shared interests rather than differences. He reaffirmed Australia’s adherence to the One-China policy.
At the meeting, Wang Yi highlighted ongoing efforts to remove barriers and resolve outstanding issues in China-Australia relations under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries.
He underlined the concrete benefits of better relations, enhancing the China-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
