Australian government to consider tax reforms

Business Business: Australia’s Finance Minister Jim Chalmers said on Wednesday that his government will consider tax reforms to boost productivity and build economic resilience at an economic roundtable meeting in August next month. He said these reforms should be budget neutral as the government grapples with rising spending pressures in the coming years.

“Our budget is strong but not sustainable enough. Our economy is growing but needs to improve productivity. It is resilient but needs more resilience in the face of global economic volatility,” Chalmers said in his address to the National Press Club.
