Attur: Stepfather arrested for sexually assaulting minor, action taken under POCSO Act

Tamil Nadu: A serious case has come to light near Attur in Salem district, Tamil Nadu, where police have arrested the stepfather of a minor girl under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. According to reports, the victim’s mother separated from her husband due to his alcohol addiction and has been living with her sister for the past three years. Meanwhile, her sister’s husband, Nandakumar (38), who was living with the family, has been accused of sexually assaulting the minor girl.

It is reported that the incident remained hidden for a long time, but later came to light when the victim’s health deteriorated. As her condition deteriorated, she was admitted to a hospital, where doctors declared her condition critical. Based on the findings of the medical examination and treatment, the case was brought to the attention of the police.
