If you come to know why you should not bathe naked, then wherever you bathe, you will bathe only wearing clothes.
In the Puranas, some special rules have been given for bathing for the welfare of human beings. By not following which you become a partner of sin. Along with this, happiness, wealth, prosperity are also snatched away. In the twelfth chapter of Vishnu Purana, it has been told that a man should never bathe naked. There must be a cloth on the body while taking a bath. According to the scriptures, taking a bath naked is considered as Pitra Dosh.
Mentioning the story of Chir Haran in Padmapuran and Shrimad Bhagwat Katha, it has been told that Gopis used to take off their clothes and get into the water to bathe. And Lord Shri Krishna used to steal the clothes of the gopis and when he could not find his clothes while searching for the clothes of the gopis, Shri Krishna used to say that your clothes are on the tree. Get out of the water and take your clothes, on this the Gopis used to refuse to come out naked.
Kanha used to forbid the Gopis to bathe naked. Once, while explaining to the Gopis, Krishna had said that taking a bath naked would insult the God Varun (water god). According to the scriptures, many types of life are present in the environment in a subtle form, in such a situation, taking a bath without clothes is blamed, due to which a person’s happiness and wealth starts getting destroyed.
According to Garuda Purana, while taking a bath, your forefathers are around you and receive the water falling from your clothes, which satisfies them. By taking a naked bath, the forefathers get angry due to which a person’s brightness, strength, wealth and happiness are destroyed. That’s why one should never bathe naked.
