Atmakur city will be developed with Rs 12.8 crore: Anam

Nellore: Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said that he will try to bring back the glory of Atmakur Municipality by developing it on all fronts. Addressing the media after reviewing various problems in Atmakur Municipality on Sunday, the Minister reminded that it was on his initiative that Atmakur Panchayat was upgraded to a Municipality 10 years ago when he was the Minister. He informed that it is proposed to develop Atmakur town at a cost of Rs. 12.8 crore, besides Rs. 9.04 crore drinking water scheme from AMRUT (Central Government) fund, Rs. 3.18 crore for construction of sewage treatment plant, Rs. 22.81 lakh for desilting works. Minister Anam informed that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for the proposed works. He informed that it is also proposed to establish Gurukul Pathshala for backward classes very soon. Under this initiative, classes from class 5 to 8 will be run with 160 students from the current academic year on the second floor of AP Gurukul Pathshala building in Atmakur town. The minister said that it is also proposed to construct a walking track with dividers, central lighting from Anjaneya Swamy temple to Atmakur town in the interest of the people. Later, Minister Anam inspected the mineral water plant and lab in the town and directed the officials to ensure supply of clean drinking water.
