Kerala: Thirteenth session of the fifteenth legislature from January 17 to March 28. The assembly meets for a total of 27 days. In the session that begins with the Governor’s policy announcement speech on January 17, the budget for the financial year 2025-26 will be presented in the House and discussed and passed.
On January 20, 21 and 22, the motion of thanks to the Governor’s policy announcement speech will be debated. The budget presentation for the financial year 2025-26 will be on February 7 and public debate on the budget will be held on February 10, 11 and 12. The last batch of budget requests for the financial year 2024-25 will be considered on February 13. Thereafter, the House will not meet from February 14 to March 2. During this period, various subject committees will meet and examine funding requests. For 13 days during the period from March 4 to 26, the House will discuss and pass the 2025-26 financial requests in detail.
Two appropriation bills are to be passed in this session, which relate to the final appropriation request for 2024-25 and the budget for 2025-26. The arrangement for business on days reserved for government affairs will be decided later by the Advisory Committee. The House will be dissolved on March 28, 2025.
