Assam shines in North East Games 2024

Assam: Known for their strong performances, athletes from Assam once again showcased their sporting prowess and claimed their position in the regional arena at the recently held North East Games 2024 in Nagaland. With much success across various disciplines, the Assam team has recorded an impressive collection of medals, cementing its reputation as a formidable force in the sport. Assam’s performance in the games was excellent and it won all 13 medals including 5 gold. In the preliminary round, Ritumony Swargiari won the men’s individual gold medal, while the compound team men’s gold went to Arun Boro, Ritumony Swargiari, Rajesh Narzary and Monoranjan Boro. Successfully won the gold medal. Assam’s wrestlers performed well, with female wrestlers Suzuma Boro and Swarasati Boro winning gold medals in their respective categories. Apart from the fact that badminton and taekwondo proved useful for Assam as Shantipriya Hazarika and the taekwondo team won gold medals. The Assam men’s volleyball team displayed determination and skill by winning the bronze medal after a tough battle with the Nagaland team as they continue to shine on the regional stage.
