Asifabad: Two tigers died, four forest officers suspended

Asifabad: Four officials, including a forest division officer (FDO) and a forest range officer (FRO), were suspended for being responsible for the recent death of two tigers in the forests of Dharigaon village in Kaghaznagar mandal. On Tuesday, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) RM Dobriyal issued an order to this effect.

According to the order, FDO T Vijay Babu and FRO S Venugopal of Kagaznagar were suspended for showing negligence in the safety of big cats. The action against the base officials was initiated in a report submitted by S Shantaram, area director of Kawal Tiger Reserve, following the consecutive deaths of a dog and an adult male tiger in the Dharigaon forests in the last 6 years. 8 January.

Shantaram noted in his report that officials did not record the movement of tigers in the M-Stripes application created for the conservation of big cats. “No assessment of conditions in tiger transit areas. They did not avoid invasion of forest areas, but built burrows without young trees. “Withdrawal of submission of salary data of animal trackers,” the notice read.

Meanwhile, as per the instructions of PCCF, District Forest Officer Neeraj Kumar Tebriwal suspended Kagaznagar DIRO Poshetti and FBO Srikanth for non-replenishment of debris. When officials found the bodies of two big cats, they did not alert senior officials. Local priests informed the authorities about the incident, following which the officials had to search for the missing tigers.
