Arunachal: Calcutta University students visit RGU on academic tour

DOIMUKH: A group of students from the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Calcutta visited the Central Library and the Department of Library and Information Science, Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) here.
Interacting with the visiting students and faculty members, Dr. Sudhir Kumar Jena, librarian and head of the Department of Library and Information Science, RGU, highlighted the growth and achievements of the newly established department, including its academic programmes, infrastructure, future plans, and commitment to developing quality library and information science education in Arunachal Pradesh.
Dr. Jena also emphasized the importance of academic collaboration between institutions and proposed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between RGU and the University of Calcutta to facilitate student internships, academic exchange programmes, collaborative research, and faculty interactions.
Prof. MP Satija shared his views on the progress made by the department within a short span of time. He encouraged the visiting students to actively engage in professional development and lifelong learning.
Prof. Sabuj Kumar Chaudhuri, who led the visiting students, appreciated the modern library services and academic initiatives undertaken by RGU.
The visiting team toured various sections of the Central Library and the Department, guided by faculty members and library staff.
