Arrested along with sonar thieves, theft revealed in 3 districts including Dhamtari

Dhamtari. Thefts in abandoned houses and liquor shops of Dhamtari, Kanker, Kondagaon in the years 2022, 2023 and 2024 have been revealed. Police disclosed that on the intervening night of 19-20/02/2024, in an abandoned house in Housing Board Colony, Reasi area of Dhamtari city, unknown thieves broke the door lock, entered inside and broke the cupboard locker, and stole the gold kept in the locker. They had fled away after stealing silver jewelery and cash. Based on the report of the applicant, a crime was registered against unknown accused at Dhamtari Police Station City Kotwali and taken up for investigation. During the investigation, the incident site was inspected and the CCTV footage installed around the incident site was studied in detail. Three suspicious persons were seen roaming in Halat Colony near the incident site. The identification was being done by sending photographs of the suspected accused through social media, WhatsApp and Telegram. On which information was received through the group that the photo sent was identified as Ganpat, resident of Tanda district Dhar, Madhya Pradesh.

To arrest the suspected accused, a team was formed and sent to District Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. The team was conducting searches around the residence of the suspected accused by placing a cap and appointing informers. After stealing jewelery and cash and a motorcycle kept in the courtyard of another house, all three went to Kanker by bus. Leaving the motorcycle at the Kanker bus stand, they went to Kondagaon by bus. On the night of 20-21/02/2024, breaking the lock of an abandoned house in Kondagaon and stealing gold and silver jewelery and cash kept in the cupboard was reported. On the night of 21-22/02/2024, they tried to steal a liquor shop in Kondagaon and broke the lock of an abandoned house and stole gold and silver jewelery and cash and stole a motorcycle kept in the courtyard of another person. While sitting on the way to Raipur, all three of them told that they should leave the motorcycle on the way and go back to Madhya Pradesh and told that in the month of August 2022, they would break the lock of an abandoned house in Gujarati Colony and steal gold and silver jewelery and cash.

In the month of May 2023, it was reported that gold and silver jewelery and cash were stolen by breaking the lock of an abandoned house in Vivekananda Colony.
