Army soldier arrested, accused of assaulting lawyer, police tightens screws
New Delhi: Two people, including an Army jawan, have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a lawyer and hitting his car with his vehicle in South Delhi’s Hauz Khas area. Police said the accused have been identified. They have been identified as Ravinder Singh (29) and Deepak (34), residents of Agra, Uttar Pradesh. In fact, on Friday, a person informed the police that the accused was involved in a road accident and was attacked by two men.
Police reached the spot in Hauz Khas village and found the caller, Karmanaya Singh (24). According to a senior police officer, the lawyer told the police that he was coming from his office and as his car reached near Jagannath Temple, another vehicle overtook him and hit him. Singh told the police that two men came out of the car, attacked him and fled towards Hauz Khas village. Ravinder, the driver of the attacking vehicle, who was in an inebriated state, also took out a gun and waved it in the air while fleeing, the officer said, adding that constable Vanrulati caught the accused. Police said that Ravinder works in a restaurant in Agra, while Deepak is a hero in the army.
