Arindam Roy resigns from BJD, submits resignation to party supremo
Bhubaneswar: Popular actor Arindam Roy resigned from BJD and submitted his resignation to party supremo Naveen Patnaik on Friday. In his letter addressed to the party supremo, your party general secretary Arindam Roy has said, “I have been working in your party since 2009, and have been a star campaigner of your party since 2014. Worked at grassroots level as observer in various elections in Cuttack, Tirtol, Tirtol by-elections, Koraput (District Council and Municipality elections).
The letter further reads, “But with a heavy heart I am very sad to say that my work has not yet been recognized by you or the members appointed by you. I have been trying to meet my leader i.e. you for a long time, but unfortunately I did not get a chance to meet you.
Arindam Roy resigned from BJD and further wrote, “Therefore, I feel that I do not fit the criteria to meet you, and there is no place for me in your party. Therefore, I resign from the post of General Secretary of BJD and the primary membership of your party. I hope you will understand my situation and will not hold any grudge against me.” The actor’s future strategy in terms of his political career is not known yet. A detailed report in this regard is awaited.
