Archer Aviation proposes to launch air-taxi network in New York City

World World: Archer Aviation (ACHR.N) has unveiled plans to launch an air-taxi network in New York City, which will be in partnership with United Airlines (UAL.O). The plan aims to reduce travel times between Manhattan and nearby airports. Archer’s electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft “Midnight”, designed for four passengers, aims to turn a one- to two-hour journey into just 5-15 minutes.
Air-taxi startups are rushing to commercialise eVTOL aircraft to meet growing demand for rapid and sustainable urban transport. Archer Aviation, which is backed by major airlines and defence contractors, plans to use helicopter infrastructure already in place in the New York area.
