Archbishop ordains six diocesan priests in ceremony at Se Cathedral

Six new diocesan priests were ordained at the Se Cathedral on Friday by His Eminence Archbishop-Patriarch of Goa and Daman Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão. During the ordination ceremony, Archbishop Ferrão urged the newly ordained priests to “always have a vision of faith, an attitude of humility, and a spirit of obedience” as they embark on their mission of ministerial priesthood. The ceremony was conducted on the theme of ‘Ministers of Service in the Footsteps of Jesus’, and was attended by a large number of priests, nuns, and lay faithful.

In his speech, Archbishop Ferrão emphasized the importance of serving others. He urged the newly ordained priests to build a collaborative Church involving all the faithful, and added, “They may have to sacrifice, change their lives, and be men of service. Just as Jesus became a servant for our sake, they need to be at the service of the people, a service done with joy and love.”

The six new priests, Fr Prinson Oliveira from Tilamola, Fr Ashliff Correia from Velim, Fr Mowin D’Costa from Utorda, Fr Frankey Carvalho from Maina – Corgao, Fr Movin Fernandes from Paroda, and Fr Afzal Fernandes from Chandor, have been appointed as assistants to Parish Priests in various parishes across the region
