Arbitrariness of school, cleanliness depends on students

Sitapur. A case of making school children work has come to light in the district. Whereas as per the rules, under the Right to Education Act, it is against the rules to make school children work during their studies. Even after this, a private school was making school children use brooms in the name of cleanliness.

When asked a question about getting school children to do work, the headmaster said that he was making the children do gardening cleaning during school hours. This statement of the Principal clearly shows how much arbitrariness is going on in the private schools and for this they are not failing to keep even the administrative rules in check.

The case pertains to St. Joseph’s Convent Higher Secondary School, Bhaisakhar, where during school hours, schoolgirls were being made to sweep in the name of cleanliness. School girls were being made to sweep inside and outside the campus in the name of cleanliness. It is against the rules to make school children do such work. Even after that, the children were being made to do this work without any fear by the organization. During this time, many parents noticed this but they could not protest against it due to fear that the organization might harass their children. Whereas, to curb the arbitrariness of schools, the government has implemented the Right to Education Act. So that children are not made to do any work other than studies in school which is irrelevant.
