Apple iPhone 17 might be offered with a bigger display along with upgraded refresh rate

The Apple iPhone 17 is expected to launch around the Q3 of 2025 and the device is expected to get multiple updates if compared to the iPhone 16. The upcoming iPhone 17 series will include iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

A supply chain insider has offered some insight about the display of the standard iPhone 17. The display of the base model is claimed to be better than the older gen. The refresh rate is also expected to be better than iPhone 16.

According to DSCC analyst Ross Young on X, the iPhone 17 is expected to offer a 6.3-inch screen (exact 6.27-inch). If compared to iPhone 16 (6.1-inch) it is bit bigger. The iPhone 17 is expected to be offered in 120Hz refresh rate. Some earlier leaks did mention that the iPhone 17 Pro will also get a 6.3-inch screen. Similarly, the refresh rate of the iPhone 17 is expected to be 120Hz. It seems that 120Hz ProMotion displays will be offered across iPhone 17 models.

A19 chip based on 3nm technology will be featured on the Apple iPhone 17. Similarly, the A19 Pro is expected to be offered on the Pro versions. As compared to the A18 chip, the A19 chip is expected to be more energy efficient and provide better battery life.

In terms of camera upgrade, the iPhone 17 is expected to offer upgrade in the front facing camera. Rumours have indicated that front camera will be 24MP sensor in place of 12MP sensor that is offered in the current. Multiple reports have indicated mechanical aperture system in its cameras.
