Anup Satpathy has been appointed as the Principal Chief Safety Officer of SIR.

Bilaspur. A major change has been made in the South East Central Railway (SECR) with the aim of strengthening the railway administrative structure. Anoop Satpathy, a senior officer of the 1993 batch of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), has been appointed as the Principal Chief Safety Officer (PCSO). The railway believes that his extensive experience in safety management will provide a new direction to the zone in the areas of operations and safety.
Anoop Satpathy has a long and diverse experience in railway service. He has previously held important responsibilities in the South East Central Railway and has been posted in the Bilaspur railway zone. His previous tenure was considered highly effective by the railway, after which he has again been given an important responsibility in SECR. Satpathy has done remarkable work while holding key positions in several railway divisions and zones. He served as Senior Divisional Operations Manager (Sr. DOM) and Deputy CCM in Nagpur. In the Raipur railway division, he served as Senior DSO, where he took several corrective measures related to railway safety and operations.
In addition, he also served as Senior DOM in the Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway. From 2021 to 2023, he did outstanding work as Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) in the Visakhapatnam railway division. During this period, he implemented several important improvements in freight operations, passenger services, and safety management, which were also appreciated by the Railway Board. He also held several key positions at the beginning of his career. In 2003, he also held the positions of CPTM (Chief Traffic Manager) in East Coast Railway and PCOM (Principal Chief Operations Manager) in NER Gorakhpur. While holding these positions, he did remarkable work in improving rail operational efficiency, safety improvements, and freight management.
