Anti-drug squad issued 18 challans

Mahasamund. Under the National Tobacco Control Program, challan action was taken by the joint enforcement team in Mahasamund on Thursday. This action was taken under the direction of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. P. Kudeshia, guidance of DPM Mrs. Neelu Ghritalhar and with the cooperation of District Nodal Officer NTPC Dr. Chhatrapal Chandrakar. During this, the joint team of Food and Drug Administration Department, Police Department and Health Department took action under the COTPA Act 2003 and issued a total of 18 challans.
The main objective of the action is to prohibit smoking in public places under Section 04, prohibit selling and using tobacco products to minors under Section 06 (A) and ban the sale of tobacco products within 100 yards of educational institutions under Section 06 (B).
During the action, Food Safety Officer Jyoti Bhanu and Drug Inspector Awadhesh Bhardwaj inspected educational institutions and public places. Police Inspector Sharad Dubey and Head Constable Narendra Sahu had a special contribution in the action.
