Anti child marriage squad took major action

Manpur. Police have registered a case against seven people for arranging child marriage in Manpur of Mhow tehsil. The marriage of the minor girl took place in the month of November. During this time, the Women and Child Development Department had applied to the police. While investigating this, the police have also registered a case against the girl’s parents, the married youth and his relatives, the temple priest and the neighbours. According to the information, the officials of the Women and Child Development Department project were informed by the social organization about the marriage of a minor in the Ashapurna Mata Temple of Manpur in November.

On the basis of this, Project Officer Sushil Kumar informed the officials of Anti Child Marriage Squad Lado Abhiyan Core Group for legal action. When the anti-child marriage squad took information about the girl’s age from the school, her age at the time of marriage was 15 years and three months. After this the team contacted the girl’s relatives. On this the girl’s relatives started arguing with the officials and members of the team. On this, Mahendra Pathak of the team had lodged a complaint in Manpur police station. Manpur police station has registered a case against the married youth Rohit Solanki, his father Jagdish Solanki resident of Baroda district Dhar, girl’s father Veer Bahadur Singh, mother Suman Singh along with temple priest, neighbor Rajesh Soni, Munnalal Vishwakarma.
