Anti-alcohol action by Chakradharnagar and Kharsia police, three accused arrested

Raigarh. Raigarh. Under the direction of SP Divyang Patel, a strict campaign against illegal liquor is going on in the district, in which Kharsia and Chakradharnagar police raided on 24 and 25 March and arrested three accused and seized Mahua liquor.
Action of Chakradharnagar Police:
On March 25, Chakradharnagar police raided liquor in village Mahapalli. Police station in-charge inspector Prashant Rao had received information that Hemsagar Nishad (20) was selling illegal liquor in his possession. The police raided and caught the suspect. Initially he tried to mislead, but on strict interrogation he confessed to selling liquor and presented 06 liters of raw Mahua liquor (worth Rs 1200) hidden in a plastic box. A case was registered against accused Hemsagar Nishad (resident Mahapalli Navamuda, police station Chakradharnagar) under section 34 (2), 59 (a) of the Excise Act. Head constable Paulus Ekka, constable Shwet Kumar Barik, Chandra Kumar Banjare, Minketan Patel and lady constable Anita Beck were involved in this action.
Action of Kharsia Police:
Kharsia police raided village Geedha and Chaple on March 24. Ramesh Kumar Khute (44) was caught selling liquor in front of his house in village Geedha. Seeing the police, the accused was trying to run away, but the team caught him. 07 liters of raw mahua liquor (worth Rs 1400) and Rs 100 cash were seized from the accused. At the same time, near the railway gate of village Chaple, the police surrounded the canal and caught the accused Gopal Patel (22) resident of Aurabhatha, police station Kotraroad. 15 liters of raw mahua liquor (worth Rs 3000) was recovered from him. In both the cases, action was taken under section 34(2) Excise Act in police station Kharsia. In this raid, female head constable Sarojini Rathore, Sanjay Minj, Biricharam Sande, Yogesh Sahu and Satya Narayan Sidar played an important role. The police has clarified that action will continue by tightening the noose on illegal liquor traders and such elements are being kept under strict surveillance.
