Announcement of formation of 7th State Finance Commission: Tamil Nadu Government

Tamil Nadu : The Tamil Nadu government has ordered the formation of the Seventh State Finance Commission. In this regard, the press release issued by the state government on Thursday said: The Tamil Nadu government has ordered the formation of the Seventh State Finance Commission. This commission will study the financial position of various urban and rural local bodies. The Finance Commission will make appropriate recommendations on the distribution of funds to be provided by the state government. Retired IAS officer K. Allauddin will serve as the chairman of the Finance Commission constituted by the Tamil Nadu government as per the provision in the Constitution of India. Tiruppur Corporation Mayor N. Dineshkumar will serve as ex-officio member, while Municipal Executive Director, Rural Development and Panchayat Commissioner and Commissioner of Town and Village Panchayat will serve as members. Prathik Thayal, Deputy Secretary, Finance Department will be the Member Secretary of the Commission. The Finance Commission will make appropriate recommendations for a period of 5 years starting from April 1, 2027. It is reported that the commission will submit its report by August 31.
