Angered by not taking action against encroachers, villagers blocked the road

Raipur. Villagers today blocked the Abhanpur-Nawapara main road in protest against illegal occupation of government land in village Kurra of Abhanpur area. Due to this, traffic was affected for two and a half hours. After the persuasion of the officers and immediate action to remove the encroachment, the blockade of the villagers ended. Let us tell you that after the news of the blockade on the Abhanpur-Navapara main road was reported by the villagers, the administration came into action and after reaching the spot, assured the villagers of action. Requested to end the traffic jam, but the villagers remained adamant on the demand of removing the encroachment.

After which the villagers ended the blockade when the administration immediately took action to remove the illegal encroachments. According to the villagers of Kurra, some people of the village had illegally encroached upon the government land worth crores located in the village, which was not being paid attention to by the administration despite the demand for its removal.

It is noteworthy that the Abhanpur-Navapara main road is situated on the Raipur to Devbhog main road, which connects Chhattisgarh to Orissa. Due to this, there is movement of hundreds of passenger buses, heavy vehicles and people 24 hours a day on this route. Due to the traffic jam by the villagers, many vehicles remained stuck on the road for about two and a half hours. After the traffic jam ended, people who were feeling faint due to the intense heat heaved a sigh of relief.
