Andhra Pradesh: ‘Prajala Vaddaku Palan’ from August 15

Nellore Nellore: Following the government’s directives, the district administration is preparing to launch Telugu Desam Party’s unique concept Prajala Vaddaku Palana (PVP) in the district from August 15. The concept was launched by visionary leader former CM NT Rama Rao in 1982 after TDP came to power to know the problems of the public at the grassroots level and find solutions to them. Later CM N Chandrababu Naidu took this concept forward in many ways, such as organising revenue conferences, involving officials, ministers, MLAs, party leaders and workers in shramadanam, which is voluntary work for the betterment of society. This approach also helped the party win the confidence of the public and build a strong bond with them. This time, the PVP is proposed to be organised from August 16 to September 30, during which revenue conferences and gram sabhas will be organised, so that representations from the public can be taken and they can be resolved in a time-bound manner i.e. in about 45 days. Senior TDP leader and party politburo member Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that scams and irregularities worth crores of rupees have come to light during the PVP. Notably, during the assembly session, Somireddy had pointed out several issues, such as illegal mining of white stone in Siddapuram mandal, deaths of people after consuming cheap liquor in Muthukuru mandal, theft of files related to irregularities in Sarvepalli from Nellore District Court, etc. When the PVP was first introduced in 1983, its aim was to know the problems of the public. But now, it is completely different as the ruling party leaders are set to submit petitions on irregularities, illegal occupation of allotted land and other corruption activities observed during the 5-year YSRCP rule.
