Andhra Pradesh Police beefs up security for smooth counting of votes
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Police Department has initiated measures to ensure that the process of counting of votes remains smooth on June 4. In this direction, AP Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta has appointed 56 special officers to monitor the counting of votes in all the districts of the state.
Large-scale violence broke out in various districts of AP, especially the Palanadu region, on and after the polling day. Thus, AP Police Department is taking measures to ensure law and order around the counting centres. A maximum of eight special officers have been appointed to monitor the counting of votes in Palanadu district, which was worst affected by the during and post-poll violence.
