Andhra Pradesh News: Amit Shah worshiped Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy in Tirumala

Tirumala: A day after concluding the Lok Sabha election campaign, Union Home Minister Amit Shah along with his family members performed puja at Tirumala on Friday morning. Shah and his family members first landed at Renigunta airport and later reached Tirumala by road. He and his family had darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy during the VIP break darshan in the morning.

He was given a traditional welcome amid Vedic chanting by the chief priests who escorted him from the main entrance to the sanctum sanctorum along with top temple functionaries. Shah also bowed to the sacred golden altar and golden sacred mast (Dwajastambhaam) in front of the silver doors inside the temple.

After performing puja, Shah was felicitated with a sacred silk cloth besides ‘laddu’ prasad at the huge Ranga Mandapam of the temple. The priests also bestowed divine blessings on Shah.

In view of Shah’s visit, the Tirupati district police have increased checking from Tirupati to Tirumala including Alipiri and Ghat Road. The Prime Minister and Shah extensively toured different states and took part in the election campaign, highlighting the achievements of the NDA government in the last 10 years in the country.
