Andhra Pradesh: 4-time MLA Parthasarathy wins from 3 seats
Vijayawada: Information and Public Relations and Housing Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy is one of the seniormost political leaders from the erstwhile Krishna district and has won elections from three different assembly constituencies due to his popularity and dedicated service to the people for over two decades. The TDP leader and current Nuzvid MLA belongs to the Yadav caste and is one of the senior BC leaders in the state. He won the elections four times from Vuyyuru, Penamaluru and Nuzvid constituencies in 2004, 2009, 2019 and 2024, out of which he won from Penamaluru twice. He served in the cabinet of Dr YS Rajashekhar Reddy when he won in 2009. The 59-year-old politician is also a businessman. He faced defeat only once in 2014 when he lost the election to Bode Prasad from Penamaluru. He was 39 years old when he was first elected to the Assembly in 2004 as a Congress party candidate. After the dissolution of Vuyyuru constituency and the creation of Penamaluru constituency, he was elected from Penamaluru. He left the Congress before the 2014 elections and joined the YSRCP. Just before the 2024 elections, he left the YSRCP and joined the TDP and won from the Nuzvid constituency. He assured the people of the state that his top priority is to complete the pending works of houses built by the government and start new housing projects aimed at providing housing to the homeless. He had campaigned in both Nuzvid and Penamaluru constituencies and was determined to defeat the YSRCP at any cost during the recent elections. He promised to develop the Nuzvid assembly constituency and held several meetings with local leaders and voters. As part of the reorganisation of districts, Nuzvid was merged into Eluru district, though it was part of Krishna district for several decades.
