Andhra: Markapuram Collector reprimands officials for laxity in handling public complaints

Nellore: Markapuram district collector M. Vijaya Sunitha on Monday pulled up officials for neglecting public grievances and disposing of petitions mechanically without proper field verification.
Addressing the Praja Samasya Parishkara Vedika programme at the collectorate in Markapur, she expressed serious displeasure over officials issuing routine endorsements instead of ensuring resolution of issues faced by petitioners. She directed all district-level officers to change their negligent attitude, conduct field visits and focus on timely redressal of grievances to ensure justice to the public.
According to officials, 163 petitions were received during the PGRS programme, including 83 related to revenue matters and 80 concerning civic and departmental issues.
Joint collector P. Srinivasulu and other district officials attended the programme.
