Andhra: Commuters demand immediate repair of the Narsipatnam-Chodavaram road.

Anakapalli: Commuters travelling along the Narsipatnam–Chodavaram kachha road face severe hardships because the stretch has deteriorated into a deplorable condition with potholes and damaged surfaces making daily journey increasingly difficult and risky.
Despite repeated public complaints, authorities and elected representatives have allegedly failed to respond to this long-pending issue, leaving residents frustrated over the continued neglect of this crucial road.
Motorists complain that navigating the damaged stretch has become a daily ordeal, frequently causing vehicle damage. Many vehicle owners lament that they are forced to spend thousands of rupees on bike maintenance due to the poor condition of the road, adding to their financial burden.
Two-wheeler riders and bus passengers are among the worst affected. The potholes and uneven road surface make commuting uncomfortable and highly risky in the area. Passengers also expressed concern about physical discomfort, including back pain, caused by the constant jolts while travelling along the stretch.
CPM leader Govinda Rao alleged that the road has not received even basic repairs for nearly eight years. He criticised the authorities for failing to address the serious issue despite repeated representations and efforts to bring the deteriorating road conditions to the government’s attention.
The road’s prolonged neglect has intensified public demands for immediate intervention. CPM leaders and local residents have urged the concerned officials and elected representatives to undertake repair works without further delay and provide relief to thousands of commuters who depend on this route daily. As their pleas go unnoticed, CPM leaders and residents have warned that they will launch protests if the authorities continue to ignore their demands. They called for urgent action to restore the road, ensure safer travel for citizens and end their hardships.
